subject: Capacity fo continuous improvement
I agree with Jane that people and enhanced leadership capacity are
important (largely unmeasured) legacy of the LSC. We have observed many
of the same things in our LSC as she noted. Teachers who have become
Curriculum Directors for science in theri district; administraotrs who
have become superintendents; project staff who have moved into
positions as assistant -principals or principals; teachers who now work
with university facuty to facilitate connections with higher education.
Each one has the potential to become an advocate and a force for
promoting the LSC concepts in their new organization or in implementing
it at their school. There is also another important group that can help
provide support who may not end up with leadership roles, namely
people who work in the school adminstration or the Dept of Education
whose children are benefitting from and love their "science" program.
