subject: Writing in Science
Our former LSC (VIPS) has been working for a number of years on the
integration of expository writing in science. We have very nice
research evidence of the results. The key was to move from a
"knowledge telling" form of expository writing to a "knowledge
transforming" form of writing that allowed students to develop voice
for their work.
