concept maps

I'm very interested in knowing more about using concept maps with
students, especially at the elementary grades. As we continue our
journey of using science notebooks with teachers and students, we're
beginning to consider which elements in the notebook will lend
themselves to other forms of writing. From your short description it
seems that a concept map would be an effective pre and post assessment
as well as a starting point for expository writing pieces.
