subject: lesson study
Hello I'm a science support teacher for TPS and we complete NSF
observation for teachers who participate in the TAPESTRIES program.
This may sound silly, but inorder for a lesson study or NSF observation
to be benificial the teacher needs to be able to reflect on their
teaching. I've found many teachers who have a hard time being
reflective. The key to improving teaching is the ability to look back
and say That didn't go so well. What can I do different to improve?
If teachers can't do that themselves then I'm sure they don't want to
hear it from someone else. It would be great if they could see
themselves on video and and reflect on their own teaching. Perhaps it
could be a first step and create a comfort zone. Reflection need to be
taught.
