Teacher Leaders Supporting Teachers
|
I completely agree that getting into the classroom can be very difficult for teacher leaders and it is one I have faced for many years. One way I have found to get teachers to open up their classrooms is through our Inquiry Institute which we provide for 5 days. As part of this institute the teachers are required to work with a resource teacher on their inquiry project. This helps to establish a relationship with the teacher and leader, trust is built and they realize you are not there to evaluate. Linking professional development sessions to work in teachers classrooms is one way we have been successful.
