Our LSC included principals as part of the scale-up. Principals have always been part of our steering committee and have taken an active role in the professional development sessions for teachers. As superintendent, I also have modeled the expectations for principals both by being highly visible at the schools and focusing on evidence of the implementaion of the reform and secondly by actively participating in the professional development for teachers.
The El Centro School District has consistently made science a focus and a source for integration of expository writing and math application.
