The Higher Ed Connection and Teacher Prep
|
Ben,
I am not sure that I agree with you about the effects of the LSCs on colleges and universities. In many of the LSCs, especially those in science, the higher education connection was with faculty from the subject matter disciplines. Though this was certainly a strength, it meant that the teacher preparation programs in those same institutions could continue to be unaffected by the initiative going on in their own backyard. I agree with Mark about many of the legacies of the LSCs but am sorry that so many newly prepared teachers are starting off so far behind. - Susan
