the "exemplary list"
|
Unfortunately, the formula for choosing the exampt "200" schools was never made public. It was connected to standardized test scores and somehow adjusted to account for the population of a school (middle class, lower class). Some schools received partial waivers for either mathematics or literacy in an appeal process, but the criteria for that were never made public, either. We do know that some of the District 2 model of staff development is being adopted throughout the city and the chancellor has suggested that every school should have its own math coach. How coaches are trained will be critical to the success of the standard curricula.
