James Stigler points out that critical pieces of lesson design are not
just what is considered the instructional design, but rather the
planning and reflection of the lesson itself. What data can be
collected to investigate the growth of teacher's use of planning and
reflection. Specifically the "So what?" and the "What next?" pieces
that can significantly "shift" teaching decisions that impact student
learning?
